Protect is an adhesive safety container for the disposal of fistula needles. The Protect container is composed of two overlapping sections and has a sticker on the bottom of the container for attachment to the patient’s side. The cube of expanded polystyrene placed on the inside contains the needle and consequently the blood, protecting the operator from possible punctures.
While closing the container, the compression of the upper cylinder on the lower one causes the cannulas of the fistula needles to be crushed, forming a single body that can be easily and safely disposed.
