The series Syvek® and mrdh™ produced by Marine Polymer Technologies Inc. (USA) are based on innovative technology, the result of advanced bioengineering, that stimulates the physiological processes of hemostasis, while maintaining a high degree of biocompatibility. Used on more than 3,000,000 patients worldwide, the Syvek® patches are the reference for rapid hemostasis for vascular access and percutaneous catheterization.
The patches and bandages from Syvek® effectively promote control of bleeding through the use of poly-N-acetyl glucosamine (pGlcNAc) fibers derived from microalgae. These fibers effectively control bleeding in patients on anticoagulation therapies.
The patches and bandages from Syvek® and mrdh™ work by three different mechanisms:
- Vasoconstriction
- Adhesion, activation and aggregation of platelets
- Adhesion and activation of red blood cells
Rapid control of bleeding
Indicated for minor surgery, arterial punctures and percutaneous catheterisation.
Syvek® Patch rapidly controls bleeding and is particularly indicated for cuts caused by minor surgery, arterial punctures and percutaneous catheterization, also in patients undergoing anticoagulation therapy (activated coagulation time, ACT < 200).

Syvek® Patch SP is identical to Syvek® Patch, but is mounted on an antibacterial sponge support (medical grade polyurethane). Syvek® Patch SP rapidly controls bleeding and is particularly indicated for cuts caused by minor surgery, arterial punctures and percutaneous catheterization, also in patients undergoing anticoagulation therapy (activated coagulation time, ACT < 200).
RAPID BLEEDING CONTROL IN PATIENTS WITH COAGULATION PROBLEMS
Indicated for the treatment of local surgical bleeding, such as vascular access or percutaneous catheterization.
The Syvek® NT Patch contains a higher concentration of poly-N-acetyl glucosamine (pGlcNAc) and rapidly controls bleeding, also in patients with coagulation problems, patients undergoing anticoagulation therapy, and/or patients with high values of activated coagulation time (ACT > 200). Syvek® NT Patch is indicated for the treatment of local surgical bleeding, such as vascular access or percutaneous catheterization. The Syvek® NT Patch is mounted on an antibacterial sponge support (medical grade polyurethane).
RAPID CONTROL OF SEVERE BLEEDING
The MRDH™ Bandage provides rapid and effective control of severe bleeding, even in patients with coagulation problems.
In emergency situations, the MRDH™ Bandage can control severe bleeding within minutes and has been proven to be efficacious for control of both venous and arterial hemorrhage, also in patients suffering from coagulopathy. Also particularly suitable for intraoperative use and the tamponade of bleeding complications, as for example during surgery of the liver.
